If you plan on working for any security agency in Arizona, you will need to have a valid Arizona Department of Public Safety (AZ DPS) UNARMED security guard license prior to start date.

Here's how you get your AZDPS Guard Card:

Step 1: Complete a Training Course

Please choose the 8-Hour Initial or 8-Hour Refresher Course depending on your need.

Step 2: Get Finger Prints

Get your fingerprints at a Live Scan near you.

Step 3: Get Passport Photos

You can get your passport photos taken at most drug stores.

Step 4: Prepare Information

Please have the following ready when starting the DPS License Application process:

Copy of Driver's License
Fingerprint Card
Passport Photos
8-hour Training Certificate
Completed DPS Application (see below.)
$72.00 Fee. Payable to AZ DPS Licensing. (Check, Cash or Money Order) Credit/debit if hand delivered.
