About our Founder
Gary McGuire, President & Founder
Gary Maguire, founder of Arizona Off-Duty Specialists, brings more than 30 years of combined military and law enforcement experience to the private security industry. A U.S. Air Force veteran and retired law enforcement officer, Gary has dedicated his career to protecting people, property, and communities through disciplined leadership and real-world operational expertise.
Since founding his first private security business in 2003, Gary has built security operations grounded in professionalism, accountability, and results. His law enforcement career spans some of the most demanding and high-risk assignments, including serving as a detective in homicide and auto theft, working on the FBI Bank Robbery Task Force, and operating as a SWAT tactical team member. This diverse background provides him with a deep understanding of threat assessment, crisis response, and proactive security planning.
Gary’s experience on both the enforcement and business sides of security allows Arizona Off-Duty Specialists to deliver solutions that go far beyond traditional guard services. His leadership ensures that every security program is designed with real-world threats in mind—whether protecting corporate facilities, managing high-risk environments, or deploying off-duty police officers for armed security assignments across Arizona.
